In September I bought an additional tool for my bag of camera goodies: The DJI Phantom 3 Professional, which shoots 4K footage, and man is it beautiful! It’s just a shame that online video playbacks compress the video and it doesn’t look as good. So after I edited the recent footage (below) and really thought about it, I decided it was time to go legit…or as legit as legit can be in my current season of life in Israel.
For the last year I’ve toyed with the idea of creating a name other than “Justin Boothby Productions” for a video/film production company (if that’s what you want to call it). I knew I needed to create a website that was specific to my filming but I didn’t like Justin Boothby Productions, I’m just not that egotistical.
So, here I am. Mareh Productions. I don’t know where this will take me, however I’d love to be able to do this at least part-time as a way to pay off some student debt. I don’t plan on this just being me the whole time. I have friends who will be helping and who I hope will joining the team as time moves forward. Nonetheless, the website has just about everything I can do, although I would love to film an actual documentary at some point. But it’s all there. If you don’t like the prices, you can fill out the “Get A Quote” form and I’ll see what I can do. As a sidenote: I’ll be back in America at the end of June 2016. So if you’re in the U.S., feel free to start booking in advance 🙂
You’re probably asking, “What in the world is Mareh?” Mareh (Pronounced: mar-ey) is the biblical Hebrew word מארה, which is taken from the root ראה (to see/show). Mareh means a vision, sight, or appearance. In Exodus 3:3 Moses says of the burning bush, “I must see this marvelous (or great) appearance.” Ezekiel says the same thing about the “appearance” of God in verse 8:4. The purpose of Mareh Productions, then, is to produce something for the customer that people want to see – something of good quality, character, and value.

For everyone who has allowed me to shoot their video, to my family who bought me my first camcorder, and for everyone who will choose Mareh in the future, thank you so much! You all mean the world and more to me, and I pray that this is something I can use to help and benefit others. Thank you!
